Steel field landfill February 27,2014
While visiting Steel field landfill I learned surprising and fun facts. The mound of trash was 190 feet above sea-level ! My favorite part of the landfill were the compressed rocks under our feet. We also learned that there were 50 acres of trash at the landfill ! I was shocked & "kinda" thankful that the landfill only smelled when we walked beside the dumpsters. PLEASE SAVE OUR ENVIRONMENT! ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS RECYCLE!..

At the science and discovery center we learned that second hand smoke effects pets and family members. We also learned that cigarette butts harm our environment. We saw pictures that support artful truth. The pictures represent all of the bad things that could happen to your body if you smoke. There were even pictures of real smokers' lungs and they looked very sick. They were black and filled with gunk. My favorite part was when we had the chance to color our own eyeball that represents what our futures will look like.At the discovery center we saw murals.4th and 5th graders are going to paint a mural that expresses our feelings about the environment.
