Steelfield Landfill february27,2014
Today I went to the Steelfield Landfill. I thought it would be super stinky , but it wasn't very stinky at all! Did you know that the landfill itself is 140 feet tall? I didn't. The bicycles that ended up in the landfill were fixed and given to kids for Christmas. That is a nice thing to do. Over all I think it was a very fun fieldtrip.

bay county waste to energy facility

Today I went to a incinerator. It was probably the stinkiest place I've ever been! I didn't know that they generate 13 megawatts per hour. That's 1300,000 watts in 1 hour! This incinerator was built in 1986. Another cool fact is that a generator works the opposite way than a motor works. It is called the Bay County Waste to Energy Facility. It was actually kind of fun to go there.
questions for the incinerator
Q:What materials can be burned? Q:What materials cannot be burned? Q:When was the incinerator invented? Q:When was this one built?
