steelfield landfill 2/27/14
Before we got TO the Landfill I thought it would smell really bad . It actually didn't smell that bad. when we were near the garbage cans it smelled pretty bad . When we moved on we saw a landfill that was 140 feet above sea level. The landfill was here since 1987. One amazing thing we saw was a pile of tires . they use the tires TO GENERATE electricity. They are also mining a landfill because when it was done YEARS AGO, it wasn't done right .

BAY COUNTY WASTE TO ENERGY FACILITY 3/6/14
If I were to go to the incinerator I would imagine that it would smell very bad. Wouldn't you think that you would pass some of the trash you throw away? I would also think that it would be loud.WOW I think I need to go see how the process works.
The Science and Discovery center was so fun. We learned about Tobacco use. Did you know that the tobacco company says that the cigarette butts or just the plain cigarette, wont hurt the environment but the truth is that it will definately hurt the environment. It will actually even kill living things like fish, birds and many other living things.

The Gulf Coast Advanced Technology Center was so fun. We also learned a lot. One of the things I learned was that the building is slanted because they don't want all that rain water to be on top of the building. Another thing I learned was most of the lights they have are solar panel or motion lights. Did you know that there is a thing called a 3D printer? You should probably check that out some day!
